A picky eater

023

Kaden is a super picky eater. This boy would live on candy and sweets every day of his life if I let him.  He turns his nose up to many foods.  Food he has never tried.  Food he refuses to even taste. I have tried coaxing, bribing, yelling (yeah that one worked really well) You get the idea, nothing worked.

There are many foods I know he would like if he would just try them.  Lately  I have attempted to get him to eat fruit. He does like grapes and that is about it.  The other day I had an orange and he asked for one. I said sure and gave him a piece of mine.  He sucked the juice out of it and I thought well that is better than nothing maybe he will be tempted to eventually eat the whole piece.

This morning I made homemade waffles and decided to cut up an orange and set it on the table.  Well guess what? Kaden ate two entire slices of orange because I cut the orange instead of peeling it. Who knew?

There is hope for more new foods to be introduced and maybe even dare I say it eaten and enjoyed? I just have to figure out a fun way to serve it!

my girls have gotten really picky too- I have to go through hoops to get them to try anything... it is kind of stressful sometimes- so I really can relate! I with I had a kid that just loved to eat anything I set in front of him/her!!

I'm so blessed that my kids aren't picky but from the time they could eat table food we've had a rule that they have to try 3 bites of something that they don't think they will like and after 3 bites if they still don't like it then I don't make them eat it but they usually love it!

Oh I can sympathize Michele! My middle dd is SO picky and she still is at 15! She won't eat pizza or cheese of any kind..weird. Anyway I always won the battle with fruit, especially kiwi, oranges and star fruit.

I can so related Michele! Houston has always been an extremely picky eater. I have learned that so much of it for him is about textures too. The only fruit I can get him to eat is bananas and just recently he did try some pineapple and liked it. I would have never dreamed that he would have eaten pineapple- it really surprised us!
