A few weeks ago Larry found a baby snake while he was out doing yard work. He called the boys over to have a look. It was a baby garter snake. When I came home from my grandma's, Justin was all excited about the snake and begged to keep it. He kept it in a bucket on our porch for several days. He really wanted to keep it as a pet but we did not have an aquarium to keep it in and I did not want to invest the money needed to buy one. Justin was disappointed but decided that it was best to let him go. We had a couple of great days holding and observing the snake.
We were even able to convince Kaden to hold the snake. Although he was not overly thrilled to do so.Justin has vowed to find his snake next spring!

Boys love snakes, at least you let him keep it for a few days, but letting it go was probably the right thing to do.
My Dad had a huge hog nosed snake when I was little. He would let us hold it. I didn't like it either but it was kinda cool. I'll never forget that!
sometimes our lives are just too similar Michelle! Our cat found a snake yesterday and Max was thrilled and held it for hours. He agreed to eventually let it go. it was also a garter snake.
