Get Thee To Dollar Tree

Today we stopped at Dollar Tree while we were out running errands and I came across some neat things for school. I thought I'd share here in case anyone was interested in my finds:

First up. Smart Pants The Love to Learn Game first and second editions. They are fan books. These are for ages 4-6 and have questions like: Telling Time with a a picture of a clock at a specific time and three choices. The clock is set at 6:00 the choices are 3:00, 6:00, 9:00. They are self correcting with the answer on the back. There is one question per page. It looks like you could use a dry ease pen on these (although I haven't tried it yet) as they are laminated.

The Red fan book is called Brain Blasters Primary Edition for ages 5-7. They are laminated just like the Smarty Pants books. On each page there are four questions and are also self correcting. There are questions such as 2, 4, 5, 6, 8 which numbers are even and what happens to a crayon left out in the sun? In this book each question has a point value. This could also be self challenging as well as being played with an opponent.

These would be a great workbox activity.

Here are four different games Shopping Cents Money game, Math Adventure, Rhyming Dominoes and The Amazing State Race. I have not opened these yet so I will let you know how they are.

Finally, phonics tiles! I was surprised to find these at Dollar Tree since I purchased my letter tiles from Walmart for $3-$4 dollars! There are 176 phonics tiles. There are a lot of uses for these! Spelling, reading, vowel sounds, word blends etc.
I love the dollar store!

We purchased the games a few weeks ago, and we're having fun with them. I've haven't seen the other items there though. To me, each trip to the Dollar Tree is like a treasure hunt. lol!

Hey GREAT Finds. After reading everyones finds at Their Dollar Trees I decided to check out mine. I also found the State Race Game, The Shopping Cents, and the Math Adventure Game. Did not see the dominoes. also did not see the Phonics tiles. I will have to check tomorrow though as there is a NEW Dollar Tree opening on the other side of the City by us. LOL. I did get two big posters with ABCs and Numbers on them. Hung them on my Bulletin board as soon as I got home. Used to have the Alphabet up on the wall for my son but it was like a large banner in chunks and each peice has fallen over time so I only have ABCD and TUVW. LOL. So I hung the poster for my daughters. Hope they like it. LOL. Thanks for sharing your finds. I LOVE the DOLLAR Tree!!!

Awesome! We have a Dollar Tree right by our house and I was hoping to get there soon to see if there was any seasonal decor that I could use.
I'm so glad I saw this posting because I'd really really like a tub of those phonics tiles and some of the games.
I guess I'll really try to get there this week now!

What great finds! I checked for the tiles at my Dollar Tree (two of them, actually) and they didn't seem to have them (or any of the other things you found!). That didn't stop me from picking up a few other things, though!
