Feeding Our Feathered Friends

This week we started a winter unit for school. We're studying all kinds of cool snow and winter related things! Today we decided that we needed to make sure our feathered friends had enough food during these cold, cold days. It will be very cold here in NJ over the next few days.

The boys and I strung popcorn and cranberries and made them into circles to hang outside. We had a fun time working together and talking about the different types of winter birds we have here in our yard. So far this year we have seen a pair of cardinals~which Kaden always refers to as great mom mom birds. My grandma loves cardinals and has them all over her house~tufted tit mice and Blue Jay's. We love bird watching and are excited to see if we attract any more birds to our feeders.

Kaden loved stringing the cranberries and popcorn. He patiently worked on his for an hour and finished it himself.

concentration!

Love to see little hands working!

We had some lemons that were getting old and decided to hang some of those as well.
