Last of the Jersey Tomatoes

The time has finally come. Jersey tomatoes are a thing of the past until next summer. It is truly a sad day here. We love fresh tomatoes! I could eat them every day and never tire of them. There is just nothing like a Jersey tomato! The other day I picked the last of ours, not too many and not huge. I am hoping these will ripen over the next few weeks. I read that if you wrap them in newspaper green tomatoes will ripen. So we're going to try it and see if it works.

wrapped and ready

I put them out on the porch under our steps and will check them in a few weeks. If it get too cold out there we will have to bring them in.
